Abstract: The paper examines the position of rock and roll culture in a small town through the analysis of marginalism as a question of visibility, power, and cultural policy, rather than as a consequence of a lack of quality or audience. Starting from the broader social and media context in which instant culture dominates, the text explores how market logic, political instrumentalization, and changes in the structure of the audience contribute to the suppression of authorial and alternative cultural practices. The paper follows the emergence of the PRiČA Festival, its development, and its social role. Special attention is given to the relationship between limited resources, weak institutional support, and the need for continuity of cultural practices that do not conform to market logic, as well as to the impact of population migration from smaller towns to larger urban centers. The aim of writing this paper is to highlight the problems faced by rock and roll festivals in an environment exhausted by marketing campaigns, empty forms of entertainment, and meaningless content. The motivation stems from personal experience and many years of struggle to preserve cultural identity in a small town, as well as from a love of rock music and culture in general. Within the framework of the research, a study was conducted on the position of rock and roll in a smaller town. The results indicate that the festival goes beyond the function of a musical event and becomes a space of community, confirming that rock culture in smaller towns creates social connection and cultural identity, and therefore persists as a practice of continuity rather than a passing trend.
